After Andy Rubin played down the importance of Siri by saying no one wants to talk to their phone, Google chairman Eric Schmidt admitted that the voice based service could be used to over ride Google when searching for information. His statements came in a letter in response to questions raised by a senator about Google’s monopoly in the search business.

When Apple unveiled the new iPhone 4S, it did not go down too well with users as they were eagerly waiting for a redesigned iPhone 5 with a larger 4-inch screen and tapered teardrop design.

This led to analysts predicting that the demand for iPhone 4S won’t be too high. But, contrary to those estimates, the international shipping estimates for iPhone 4s, which was available for pre-order at around 12:01 am Pacific time on Friday, October 7th have slipped to 1 to 2 weeks from earlier estimates of October 14th. Despite the issues Apple and its carrier partners faced with iPhone 4S pre-orders, it looks like iPhone 4S has been sold out for the launch day delivery in less than 24 hours after it was available for pre-order.

Danish professor Gert Frølund Pedersen who originally predicted the controversy surrounding the iPhone 4′s antenna issues has come forward once again.

9 to 5 Mac reports that the expert now says that Apple may be infringing on Samsung’s patents.

As we’ve reported before, iPhone 4S includes significant upgrades to its antenna system. The ability to switch between two antennas dynamically for both sending and receiving means that the dead grip issues observed with iPhone 4′s antenna system should be practically non-existent for users.
