So far we’ve heard conflicting reports about next generation iPhone’s form factor. According to some reports, next generation iPhone will be completely redesigned and will look more like iPod Touch 4G rather than iPhone 4.

Couple of days back, revised models of the iPhone 4 and the iPod Touch appeared in Apple’s inventory system and yesterday, the next generation iPhone codenamed N94 also showed up.
9 to 5 Mac now claims that according to their source who had given them information about these new entries in Apple’s inventory system, the N94 next generation iPhone model could come in three storage capacities: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB just like iPad 2.

Even though there has been a lack of any concrete evidence of a redesigned iPhone 5 other than theleaked case designs, iPhone accessory manufacturers like Case-Mate and Chinese counterfeiters seem to be pretty confident that Apple will launch a redesigned iPhone 5 rather than iPhone 4S.
AT&T has just joined that list, as MacRumors reports that cases based on the leaked iPhone 5 case designs have started arriving in AT&T’s retail stores ahead of the iPhone 5 launch event next week.

German site giga.de has created a physical mockup of the iPhone 5based on the leaked case designs, hardware components and case leaks that surfaced on the web over the past few months. Though the chances of a completely new iPhone design are slim due to lack of any evidence, the prototype created by them incorporates the teardrop design, an oval home button and a larger 4-inch screen.
Until now, the most compelling mockups we had seen came in the form of three-dimensional renderings of the iPhone 5, but this prototype takes it a step further and gives us a better look at how Apple’s nextiPhone with theteardrop design might look like. Earlier in the week, Apple finally announced that it will unveil the next generation iPhone at a media event on October 4th. Surveys have suggested that iPhone 5 is seeing an unprecedented demand ahead of its launch compared to iPhone 4. A survey by mobile advertising firm, InMobi seems to have come to a similar conclusion.
